a visitor and a fantasy

this little number turned up at our back door a couple of nights ago, she must have been dumped rather than feral as once i got her confidence - speedily with a little piece of turkey and a lot of ear rubbing - she was ready to move in. problem is i have 2 dedicated cat chasers in the house. so this one was lucky to find a home with an english couple who have a house in agios konstantinos.

apart from that john and i have been dreaming about winning the lottery and spending the rest of our lives on a wally yacht
seriously if ya like boats you gotta check this site -
i'm after this

and johns after something like this - and i gotta say you have to see the interior for this one

ok so all this fantasy shopping has had an effect on me

actually i've been making boats for years, but big ones wall mounted out of salvaged materials from the tanneries and round about, the biggest was 2mx2m and you could play with the rigging on most of them, hoist the sails etc. after that big one i swore the next one i made would be sea worthy, still thats about as close as i get to a wally yacht. these are little pendants by the way about 7cm.
then theres more work which is just as much fun

well i hope everyone has a joyous one, a festive one and a clean fresh start after the end of the world. love and best wishes

details and symmetry

i was at the tanneries again, unfortunately they have now been taken over by paintballers, which sort of confirms my suspicion that the university's purchase of so many of these building was never with the intent to fix and convert, but to just let them collapse and cash in on the real estate... well these are just my thoughts. though it would be a real shame if these grand old stone structures just vanished from the karlovassi landscape.
anyway as always i find some thing perhaps more about the details than the overall space. though its always been so much about the light. several dead things a dog that looked like he was sleeping. a rabbit skin that must have always been there but i never noticed before.

then there is some stuff i've been making

where does it go

where on earth does the time go every day - guess it doesn't help getting up at 9.30 nope it surely does not. and then if i go near the computer it guzzles the equivalent of an old long wheel base Landrover climbing up the alps. luckily i get kicked off by my son.
anyway some recent completes.

publications and a day on the beach

i've got some poetry coming out in a series of anthologies with other writers from Elimae magazine. my work is in the first anthology - Triple no1 - with fiction by Brandon Hobson and a Graphic Novella by Cooper Renner. Really very happy about this. Ravenna Press is an independent book publisher - support these people please.
Indian summer hanging in here like no ones business as Perry and i ramble barefoot on the beach on the south side of the island. love winters over that way - not that winter means anything as yet here - no rain to speak of, cold is a forgotten sentiment - who knows what winter even feels like these days... ooops thats asking for trouble. well heres some images - needless to say stone mania on that beach.

Amorphous potentia

A magazine I used to submit to is ending, it's a shame it was one of the best.
Elimae
Then there's some stuff I've been working on.

Robinson Crusoe

being at home without the Internet is an experience, not like you'd miss it on holiday - but the habit of having it - well, I can't say I missed it that much strangely enough as I'm on a roll and the lack of distraction is/was very pleasant.
Now the mac's on holiday for a new hard drive - mmmm these things meant to test us.
So I've been busy very focused busy so I haven't really taken any shots of anything apart from the general chaos that builds up on my work table at times like these -
